Marcell Washington, 19, the stepson of former Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand, has been listed in Arsenal's squad for their Carabao Cup encounter with Fleetwood.
The young defender was part of Chelsea's historic Champions League triumph in 2012, when the Blues defeated Bayern Munich on penalties after a dramatic finish at the Allianz Arena.
Bertrand, now 37, featured in the starting line-up for Chelsea during that final because of injuries in Roberto Di Matteo's squad.
Washington's inclusion signals his own move into professional football, following his step-father's path.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed Washington's name on the team sheet for the match against Fleetwood.
