Hollyoaks viewers observed a clear continuity mistake on October 28 when Diane Hutchinson's grave seemed to have moved to a different place.
Diane, portrayed by Alex Fletcher, was written out in May after a storyline involving terminal ovarian cancer, concluding a 16-year run on the soap.
The Sun disclosed that Fletcher had chosen to leave the series.
In the episode aired on Wednesday, October 28, Diane's adoptive daughter Dee Dee (Chloe Atkinson) visited her mother's gravesite.
She was accompanied by teacher Abigail Matthews (Brooke Vincent), who is currently grooming Dee Dee in a dark plot.
The two characters stood before the headstone with the church visible behind them.
Sharp-eyed fans pointed out that the grave's position differed from an earlier scene featuring Dee Dee.
Previously, the headstone faced another direction and Dee Dee approached it from the side, with the church appearing to her side rather than behind.
A user on X wrote, "Not diane teleporting her grave to a different spot." Another replied, "The complete lack of continuity is the charm of Hollyoaks at this point honestly."
In the same episode, the villainous teacher Abigail escalated her grooming of Dee Dee in unsettling scenes.
After locating Dee Dee at the cemetery, Abigail told her, "I'm never gonna turn my back on you. This is... unconditional."
The character then claimed they were the only ones who understood each other before moving the conversation to the school.
Following a hug, Abigail whispered, "You're not a girl anymore... you're a woman now," and suggested a sexual encounter, adding, "I don't think you would. You've been giving me all the signals."
A viewer reacted, "The way Abigail just makes my skin crawl." Another added, "Brooke Vincent is doing such a fantastic job as Abigail in #Hollyoaks. Abigail is quite creepy and the scenes involving her grooming is a hard watch but Brooke is fantastic, so is Chloe who plays Dee Dee."
