Fans of Glastonbury believe they have identified a clue pointing to a surprise headliner for the 2027 edition.

The buzz started after U2 revealed the United Kingdom and European leg of their new world tour yesterday, prompting observant followers to notice an unusual break in the itinerary.

The Irish rock group, led by Bono, is set to play at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 18 and 19 June 2027.

Their following concert is scheduled for 30 June in Berlin's Olympiastadion, creating an 11-day interval that coincides with Glastonbury Festival, which returns to Worthy Farm from 23 to 27 June after a one-year hiatus.

This alignment has driven fans into a frenzy, with some convinced U2 could stage a secret set on the iconic Pyramid Stage.

On Reddit, one user wrote: "I've just seen they are performing in London 18th and 19th June, then off to Germany on 30th. Maybe just a gap to add more shows or a glasto gap?"

Another replied: "Was literally about to post this." A third added: "There's no way they wouldn't headline. They could do the secret pyramid set on the Saturday (the Foo Fighters / Pulp set)."

U2 previously headlined Glastonbury in 2011 after pulling out of a planned 2010 slot due to Bono's emergency back surgery.

The band's newly announced Greatest Show On Earth World Tour will take them across Europe, including stops in Stockholm, Paris, Lisbon, Amsterdam and Milan.

Speculation also surrounds who will top the bill at Glastonbury 2027, with names such as Harry Styles, Sam Fender, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Rihanna being mentioned.

Organizer Emily Eavis confirmed that all three Pyramid Stage headliners have already been booked, though their identities remain confidential.

She also dismissed rumours about Madonna and Oasis appearing at the festival.
