Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney is set to join celebs flocking to the Cotswolds. The White Lotus and Euphoria actress has viewed a property in the picturesque village of Little Tew. If the move goes ahead, the Donald Trump-supporting star's neighbours will include Democrat-backing Meghan and Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Also already there are David and Victoria Beckham, The Sun columnist Jeremy Clarkson, US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres and actress wife Portia de Rossi, plus Celebrity Traitors stars Claudia Winkleman and James Blunt.
Sydney, 29, has told pals she is looking to split her time equally between here and the States, leaving her well located to film MGM Amazon's James Bond reboot should she landed a coveted role. A source said: "Sydney has visited the Cotswolds twice in the past ten months, and absolutely loves it. She viewed property there within the past three months." The insider added that she does not get bothered by locals who are used to seeing famous people, and finds village life cute and quaint.
It is a huge change of pace from Los Angeles and all the vultures circling, allowing her to lead a more peaceful life in the countryside. Pinewood Studios are also only about an hour away, meaning she could easily stay at home while filming should she land the gig. The area is known for its honey-coloured stone buildings nestling among rolling hills. Sydney is understood to be making the move alongside boyfriend Scooter Braun, 45. She met the multi-millionaire businessman at Amazon owner Jeff Bezos' wedding to Lauren Sanchez in June last year.
Last Christmas, she posted photos of herself on a Cotswolds break, staying at celeb-favourite Soho Farmhouse. She tried out face creams with a pal and turned her hand to horse riding. Sydney also spent time in the UK again recently shooting the movie adaptation of Edith Wharton's 1913 novel The Custom of the Country, alongside fellow White Lotus star Leo Woodall. During filming she was spotted wing-walking on a biplane near Ashford, Kent. Locals in Great Tew said they would be delighted to welcome another celebrity to the area.
One said: "Who doesn't love seeing a famous person in the village? I think it would be great if the move goes ahead. She seems like a lovely woman." Another added: "I wouldn't blame her wanting to move here. It is a beautiful part of the world and with all the other celebrities in the area, She'll feel right at home." The Cotswolds cover almost 800 square miles, taking in parts of Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire. Sydney recently caused a storm by stripping off for a sports betting firm advert, with claims that her pics sexualised women athletes. An earlier campaign for American Eagle denims also drew criticism over its tagline: "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans." She said: "I was honestly surprised by the reaction. I'm against hate and divisiveness."
Famous Neighbours in the Cotswolds
A host of celebrities have already moved to the stunning Cotswolds, meaning Hollywood star Sydney and millionaire boyfriend Scooter wouldn't feel too out of place. The region has long attracted high-profile figures seeking refuge from urban congestion and intense media scrutiny in major cities. Little Tew and the surrounding civil parishes offer a discreet environment where public figures can maintain a semblance of privacy while enjoying traditional British village aesthetics. Other notable residents past and present include supermodels, rock musicians, and prominent television presenters who appreciate the rural landscape and community atmosphere.
Property Market Trends for International Buyers
According to a recent report from Savills, international buyers accounted for just over a fifth of all sales at GBP 1.5 million or above in the Cotswolds last year. That is up from the 12 per cent average in the past five years. And North Americans were by far the largest group of newcomers, making up 13 per cent of sales in this bracket, up from 3.5 per cent. Real estate experts note that high-net-worth individuals from the United States increasingly view British country estates and Cotswold stone cottages as desirable primary or secondary residences.
Career Developments and Upcoming Projects
Sydney maintains a demanding international filming schedule alongside her personal investments and real estate searches. The proximity of Little Tew to major UK production hubs like Pinewood Studios provides a distinct logistical advantage for contemporary film stars. Her recent work on literary adaptations and potential studio franchises underscores the practical benefits of maintaining a permanent European base. Industry analysts observe that Hollywood actors frequently establish UK residences to facilitate access to British production facilities and European locations.
