The Hill is hosting the third annual "Bang for Your Buck: Get the Most from Your 2027 Medicare Benefits" live event, featuring policymakers, open enrollment experts and advocates.

Running from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, the open enrollment period will be the focus, with the discussion expanding beyond prescription drug plans to answer common Medicare questions.

Health-care costs and affordability rank among the top money concerns for Americans, and the event urges beneficiaries and their caregivers to review plans before the 2027 plan year begins.

New survey research of Medicare beneficiaries reveals major gaps in awareness of newer cost-saving benefits and shows mixed results on how Medicare negotiation affects Part D access and out-of-pocket costs.

The program also notes that Medicare added 15 Part B drugs to the third round of price negotiations in 2026 and took steps to formalize negotiation policies that could discourage future development of biosimilars and alternative therapies.

The Hill, partnered with the Alliance on Aging Research, will hold the discussion at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
