Actress Tovah Feldshuh, who plays Bina, the mother of Rabbi Noah Roklov (played by Adam Brody), posted on Threads that tensions are not rising on the set of Netflix's Jewish rom-com "Nobody Wants This."
Feldshuh replied to a user who claimed that "tensions are emerging" on the set, writing: "Tensions are NOT RISING. Profound differences of opinion are," and added that none of the disagreements would be brought to the set. She said she "deeply enjoys filming NWT and hope we are chosen to go on for a fourth season."
Brody had earlier shared his support for a free Palestine in a September GQ interview, stating: "Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine. It's awful that it's taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it's reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago."
Feldshuh and creator Erin Foster disagreed with Brody's remarks. Foster described the environment as "very similar to dinner tables around the world where people are having debate and discussion and disagreeing," and added that while she loves Adam, she also disagrees with him and that's acceptable.
Feldshuh had previously told The New York Post that "to accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild. It's right out of Hitler's playbook. You take the victim, and you make the victim the perpetrator."
"Nobody Wants This" has not yet been renewed for a fourth season, though Foster has said she has "more story to tell." The show has avoided addressing the Israel-Palestine conflict so far.
