ITV was compelled to publish a statement 'for legal reasons' after Twinks told Tiffany Pollard that Angie was dead during a Celebrity Big Brother episode.
Celebrity Big Brother veteran Tiffany entered the ITV programme as the newest house guest on Wednesday night's broadcast.
While sparring with Philip, Tiffany also joined a party with fellow contestants, who then asked her about her first appearance on the show in 2016.
During that stint, she shared the house with Gemma Collins, Scotty T, David Guest and Angie Bowie.
Rochelle later inquired whether David Bowie was still alive, missing the earlier moment when Tiffany thought Angie meant David Guest as she announced the death of her famous ex-husband.
Twinks then mistakenly said, "Angie is no longer here as well. Angie died."
Looking surprised, Tiffany responded, "No she didn't? She died?"
Twinks replied, "I think she did."
As Tiffany kept probing, a panicked Twinks added, "I don't wanna be making up rumours. I'm pretty sure Angie's not here."
The incident led Big Brother producers to quickly post a statement with the video on social media, saying: "For legal reasons, Angie is not dead xxx."
Viewers reacted swiftly; one wrote, "I was getting flashbacks to the 'David is dead?!' Moment." Another commented, "Gawd. Did I laf. It was like a David's dead moment. Hillarious." A third tweeted, "That was very nearly David's dead 2."
Big Brother airs at 9 pm on ITV2.
