Formula 1 driver Isack Hadjar has been called before the Mexico Grand Prix stewards regarding an alleged misconduct violation in the paddock.
A frustrated Hadjar was observed pushing a supporter twice after the individual approached him to take a selfie following a difficult first practice session.
The official stewards report noted an alleged breach of Article 12.2.1.l of the FIA International Sporting Code concerning misconduct during paddock activities.
Earlier, power unit issues disrupted Hadjar during the session, restricting him to just 21 completed laps.
His lap total placed him among the lowest, ahead of only Jak Crawford representing Aston Martin and Freddie Slater driving for Audi.
Under the regulations of the FIA International Sporting Code, actions causing moral injury or damage to the governing body, its members, or motorsport values can result in fines reaching up to €5000.
Social Media Reactions To The Incident
Supporters expressed backing for Hadjar online, with one social media user stating that a stranger invaded his personal space to take an unwanted photo.
The same user added that security and spectators need to improve their conduct.
Conversely, another supporter argued that the reaction was excessive since security surrounded the driver and the fan did not make physical contact.
Championship Outlook For Kimi Antonelli
In separate championship news, Kimi Antonelli is positioned to secure his maiden world title and become the youngest F1 champion in history, provided he does not drop more than two points to teammate George Russell and one point to Lewis Hamilton.
The championship battle can only be blocked if either Russell or Hamilton claims victory.
Under that specific outcome, finishing ninth would secure the championship for Antonelli against Russell, while tenth place would suffice if Hamilton wins.
