A US cruise ship on a residential world voyage stopped its operations in Cambodia on Thursday, citing high fuel costs as the reason. The decision left roughly 200 passengers without a place to stay after they had been living aboard the vessel.
According to the ship's operator, the surge in fuel prices made the continuation of the itinerary financially untenable, prompting the suspension of the journey. Passengers were instructed to disembark and seek alternative accommodation.
Travelers who had been treating the ship as a floating home now face the challenge of finding new housing after losing both their temporary residence and the voyage they had planned.
