Revellers across the United Kingdom maintained high spirits as they launched their Halloween parties early, dressing in spooky costumes and braving the cold weather on the eve of the holiday.
Despite the chilly air, streets remained crowded as the weekend got underway in major cities including London, Leeds, and Manchester.
Traditional spooky characters appeared nationwide, featuring eye-catching outfits alongside hardy individuals wearing skimpy clothes paired with Playboy bunny ears.
Two men wore Ghostbusters themed outfits while partying through the night in London's Chinatown, while other attendees chose classic vampires, zombies, or ghouls.
A scary clown was also seen walking around Manchester, alongside others dressed nicely for a night out.
Similar festivities are expected tonight for Halloween proper, although the Met Office warned people to prepare for changing weather conditions once early morning fog clears.
This follows a period of heavy rain in England that raised river levels, driven by Storms Austen and Boelo, which created the wettest week in the country since October 2024.
Storm Austen brought an amber warning from the Met Office for strong winds and rain in Cornwall and parts of Devon on October 23, alongside a yellow warning for central and southern England.
On the Isle of Wight, wind gusts reached nearly 80mph, forcing flight cancellations and leaving thousands of homes without electricity.
Storm Boelo followed the next day on October 24, triggering an amber wind warning for Scotland and a yellow warning for northern England.
