Miranda Hart, 53, appeared on Friday's episode of The One Show to defend former co-star James Acaster, 41, after he admitted he had been a 'reluctant' Traitor on Celebrity Traitors. Hart praised Acaster's "refreshing approach" to the format, saying he was "charming, funny and brilliant."
Acaster's experience on the reality series ended with a dramatic admission, an emotional exit and accusations of selective editing just days before the grand finale. He was forced to pause filming after a tense interrogation by actor Michael Sheen, prompting producers to conduct a wellness check before he could finish his scenes.
Hart also expressed disappointment over the banishment of actress Sharon Rooney, a fellow Faithful with whom she had formed a close friendship during production. She said Rooney "was getting there" and that her absence from the Round Table was missed, adding a playful reference to Rooney's "Poundland Poirot" moment.
In addition, Hart reflected on a viral trend that emerged from her time on the show, noting that the shared moments of laughter and play "are what really matters" compared to everyday worries and career pressures.
The finale of Celebrity Traitors saw comedian Romesh Ranganathan and actor Sebastian 'Bash' Croft win the competition, taking home a joint prize of £83,000 for their charities - The Refugee Council and One Love.
