Fallon Sherrock, 32, called her £501,000 triumph over Luke Littler in Manchester a "life-changing" moment.

The Queen of the Palace secured the win in Littler's Netflix special challenge, edging the young player despite questions about her tournament placement.

Sherrock, a former hairdresser who has never held a tour card, said the prize would dramatically alter her finances.

She earned the chance to face Littler after winning 75 per cent of the public vote in a head-to-head poll against German prospect Jarod Becker.

Speaking to SunSport, Sherrock admitted she was more nervous about not receiving the vote than about playing Littler, adding, "I was shouting for people!"

She emphasized, "It's not because I want Luke to lose or anything, it's because this prize money is life-changing. It's definitely going to change my life."

Sherrock also noted, "I feel like people think I have more money than I have, and I really haven't."

Known as the only woman to win a World Darts Championship match, Sherrock said the earnings are especially meaningful given her modest income.

She suggested a possible future encounter with Littler at the World Championship in December and thanked friends Lauren Bloomfield and Katie Sheldon for their support, saying she was "egg[ing] everyone on".
