The Simpsons is set to be removed from Sky TV in the United Kingdom after a 36-year partnership, with the last repeat scheduled for Saturday, October 1 at 6 pm on Sky One.

According to blogger Wesley Mead, Sky will cease broadcasting the series as of November 1, and the show will disappear from the channel's schedule for two weeks thereafter, a move he believes is permanent.

Wesley noted that the series has not experienced such a break since the early 1990s, and The Sun has been asked to comment.

In December 2024, it was announced that new episodes would air exclusively on Disney+ before moving to E4, while Sky retained rights to older episodes but not the newer installments.

Wesley added, "Sky One's repeats have continued in earnest throughout 2025 and 2026."

The cartoon recently reintroduced shopkeeper Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, who last appeared prominently in October 2018 after being removed amid criticism of the character as an unfair stereotype.

Voice actor Hank Azaria stepped down from the role, and Apu returns now voiced by India-born, US-raised actor Sunil Malhotra, 50, in the episode titled "The Revengening."p>
